Throughout the month of December GSSA Headquarters is celebrating and honoring our neighbors.
Neighbors are reminders that community still matters. Whether we live in a bustling city, a quiet suburb, or a rural town, the people who share our streets and sidewalks can shape our day-to-day lives more than we realize.

Good neighbors are our everyday support system and place of comfort. They’re the ones who we rely on to bring in the mail when we’re away, lend a cup of sugar when we’ve run out, and offer a friendly wave that brightens even the busiest morning.

Celebrate Neighbors
Offer to watch your neighbor’s child(ren) or pet(s).
- If you’re close to your neighbors, offer to help watch their children for a few hours or their pets when they go on a trip.
Invite your neighbor over for a meal.
- The simple act of inviting someone into your home is what matters most.
Deliver baked goods to your neighbor’s door.
- Leave some baked goods on your neighbor’s doorstep or plan a visit to enjoy them!

Strong neighborly bonds don’t just make life more pleasant, they promote safety, support, and resilience. Community becomes something we build, not just something we live in.
“The heart of any neighborhood is not made of buildings or streets — it’s made of
people."
