As a GSSA agent, you can take on a joyful mission: to spread unexpected love and light to strangers while on vacation by doing one secret act of kindness. Whether it’s leaving a heartfelt note in a hotel room or covering someone’s coffee at a local café—each act becomes a spark of hope in someone’s day that will travel far beyond the moment. We encourage you to make your vacations not just memorable but transformative, one secret act of kindness at a time!

Beyond creating lasting memories, these acts cultivate a sense of fulfillment and connection with the local culture. Below are secret missions/acts of kindness for different groups of travelers Don’t forget to add your secret missions to your “My Missions Dashboard” of the website and anonymously report your missions accomplished! Safe travels… Operation Kindness is a go!

    • Slip a kind note or a small gift under the pillow of the person staying in the room after you in a hostel or hotel.

    • Leave an anonymous, uplifting message in a guestbook or on a community bulletin board.

    • Pay for the meal or drink of a stranger in a cafe or restaurant without revealing your identity.

    • Leave a good book in a public space with a note encouraging others to enjoy it and pass it on.

    • Purchase a handmade craft from a local artisan and anonymously gift it to a co-worker, stranger or friend upon your return home.

    • Express gratitude to the housekeeping staff by leaving a thank-you note along with a small token of appreciation.

    • Pre-pack small bags of trail mix with a note encouraging hikers to enjoy a snack on the trail.

    • If your destination uses travel cards for public transport, leave any remaining credit on the card for the next person.

    • Express appreciation for a guided tour mid-wat through your trip by leaving a thank-you note and tip for the guide.

    • If you had a positive experience at a local establishment, leave a glowing review online to support their business.

    • If you have leftover local currency, leave it as a surprise tip for housekeeping, in a common area or donate it to the airline or airport donation box.

    • Bring and secretly donate school supplies to a local school or educational facility in need.

    • Secretly pay for a family's meal or activity during your trip.

    • Share secret compliments or encouraging notes within the family.

    • Organize a surprise appreciation dinner for your fellow travelers or tour group.

    • Prepare a small care package with sunscreen, snacks, and a note and leave it on a deck chair for a fellow passengers on a day at sea.

    • Leave anonymous thank-you notes for a few of the ship's crew.

    • Secretly pay for a meal/snack of a stranger at drive thru at a rest stop.

    • Secretly clean up a campsite or trailhead area to leave it better than you found it.

    • Leave behind an inspiring message in a trail register or geocache.

    • Share extra camping supplies or food with fellow campers without revealing your identity.

    • Secretly leave a small gift or note for your hotel maid or staff to express gratitude for their service.

    • Secretly cover the coffee or meal expenses of a colleague during a business trip.

    • Arrange for flowers, dessert or treat to be sent to your co-workers' rooms as a surprise.

    • Write an uplifting note and leave it on colleague or manager’s' desk or in their conference materials.

    • Create a document with insider tips about the destination and share it anonymously with a colleague or leave it in a common area.
