12 Days Before Christmas: God’s Secret Service Agents Style

Updated: Dec 8, 2021

The Twelve Days Before Christmas - otherwise known as Advent, is an amazing opportunity for GSS Agents to secretly bless someone’s life...or 12 someone’s lives! Advent means “coming” in Latin. This is the coming of Jesus into the world. GSS Agents have the opportunity to secretly come into someone’s life and help them when they may need it most.

We have two different ideas for our GSS Agents to really get into the Holiday Spirit and take the Twelve days Before Christmas to a whole new deeper level this year. You can:

  1. Adopt someone in need and secretly surprise them with 12 secret missions/acts of kindness from Monday, December 13th to Saturday December 24th or

  2. Give 12 of the same type of gift to 12 different people in need Monday, December 13th to Saturday December 24th

If you choose to surprise someone with 12 secret gifts you could anonymously drop off a gift to their home or office each day or mail them a package every few days with gifts and instructions for how and when to open them. Don’t like going to the post office, you can wrap all of the gifts and send them all in one large box with labels of which day to open each one.

Secret Mission Targets to help could be a:

  • Stranger

  • Family member

  • Neighbor

  • Elderly Person in Nursing Home

  • Single Mom

  • Homeless

  • Co-worker

  • Widows

  • Friend going through a difficult time

The gifts don’t have to be expensive. You can hand make them or pick them up at Dollar stores or Walmart.. Small Gift Item Ideas include:

  • Candles

  • Hot chocolate

  • Ornaments

  • Cookies

  • Gift cards (restaurants, grocery store, gas, pet store)

  • Towels

  • Blankets

  • Gloves

  • Journal

  • Board games

  • Treats

  • Diapers

  • Movies

  • Popcorn

  • Socks

  • Slippers

  • Scarfs

  • Books

  • Small Kitchen tools

If you choose to give 12 of the same type of gift to 12 different people in need. You may want to consider these options:

  • 12 Homeless Kits to give out to a homeless shelter

  • 12 packages of diapers to a women’s shelter

  • 12 hats for adults going through Chemo to a treatment center

  • 12 caps for newborns to a Hospital

  • 12 candy bars to a donation center for Veterans

  • 12 books for children to a preschool or daycare

  • 12 different notes of thanks for healthcare workers at an Urgent Care

  • 12 pairs of socks for the elderly to a long-term care facility

  • 12 gifts for 12 children from the Christmas Angel tree at your nearest mall

Just remember all of these ideas and gifts are always made that much sweeter with a note of encouragement letting your secret mission target know that they are special and loved by God and others! December 13th will be here before you know it! So, start planning now and make sure to have some fun with it too!
