National Day of Encouragement on September 12th each year. National Day of Encouragement is a day of encouragement and positivity. It's been proven, our words have the power to lift up others. "A small act of encouragement could be the spark that changes a loved one’s perspective. To praise and encourage someone’s efforts is a practice worth having, no matter the day of the year. "
History of National Day of Encouragement
In 2007, a group of young people at the National Leadership Forum at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, came up with the idea of The Encouragement Project. They started a celebration which they called the "National Day of Encouragement."
There are Many Ways to Encourage Others:
- Encourage your Family and Friends Give a word of encouragement to your family and friends.
- Write a Note Place a sticky note on the mirror or a folded note in a lunchbox. Or write a short, handwritten note of words of encouragement.
- Give a Just-Because Surprise Surprise your friend or co-worker a coffee (or tea, soda, or a candy bar) to show you were thinking of them, which will make them feel special!
What is Encouragement?
A kind word or an affirmative action that helps someone reach their goals.

How Do you Uplift Someone who is Down?
By being present, inviting them for a meal or just hanging out.
All of us can use a little bit of encouragement. in our lives. Words that life us up and empower us.
