I was raised by a single mother when I was 16 on. My Father passed

at the age of 46, my Mom was 42. She was suddenly alone and had to raise 4 teenagers.


She faced many battles as a single mother, financially, emotionally and spiritually but she conquered everyone with dignity and grace.


This week’s dedicated to singles of the Nation. This weeklong celebration embraces all the unique qualities many singles offer the world. National Singles Week has been celebrated since the 1980s. The Census Bureau noted “ To celebrate single life and recognize singles and their contributions to society. “ - 2006

  • Americans spend more years unmarried than married

- With so many Americans who are single either by choice or because of a divorce or a spouse’s passing, businesses are taking advantage of the new niche. Singles can check to see if certain cruise lines have solo cabins without paying a supplemental fee.


- When a single person eats out, restaurants have become more sensitive to seating parties of one with everyone else, instead of in hidden nooks back by the kitchen.


- Singles with sufficient incomes are looking into adoption and other methods of raising a child on their own.
